Welcome to LIMNS. These Terms apply to the LIMNS apps and mylimns.com (the “Service”). LIMNS is based in Ontario, Canada. By using LIMNS, you agree to these Terms.
LIMNS is a philosophical journaling app. You write about a moment, and LIMNS uses artificial intelligence to create a reflection drawing on philosophers and art. Reflections are offered for thought and may sometimes be incomplete or inaccurate, including in their description of philosophical ideas.
LIMNS is for reflection, not therapy, counselling, medical care, crisis intervention or other professional advice. If you are struggling, please reach out to a mental-health professional or a helpline (in the US and Canada, you can call or text 988; elsewhere, see findahelpline.com). If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number. LIMNS is not an emergency-monitoring service and should not be relied on to identify or respond to a crisis.
You must be at least 13 years old to use LIMNS, or older if the law where you live sets a higher minimum age. By using LIMNS, you confirm that you meet this requirement. We may close an account if we learn that its owner is under the minimum age.
You sign in using your email address. Keep access to your email secure. You are responsible for activity on your account and should contact support@mylimns.com if you believe someone else has accessed it.
Your journal entries remain yours. You give LIMNS permission to process and store them only as needed to provide and operate the Service. To generate a reflection, LIMNS sends the information needed for that request to its AI service provider. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail. You can delete entries and your account using the controls provided by LIMNS.
LIMNS may let you create share cards. You decide whether to share them and are responsible for what you share. Artworks are drawn from public museum collections and are credited where appropriate. LIMNS’s descriptions of thinkers are interpretations, not quotations unless clearly marked as quotations.
Do not use LIMNS unlawfully; try to access another person’s account or data; interfere with the Service or its security; harass or harm others; scrape or redistribute LIMNS at scale; or use LIMNS content or software to build a competing service. We may suspend accounts that seriously or repeatedly violate these rules.
LIMNS offers three free reflections. Continued reflection generation requires a subscription, purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play or, where we offer it, on our website through our payment provider. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You cancel where you subscribed: in the App Store or Google Play, or, for website purchases, as described at checkout or by contacting us. Deleting your LIMNS account does not automatically cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play, so please cancel it there first. Refunds are handled under the policies of the place where you subscribed. A paid subscription includes 30 reflections per billing month, counted from the date your subscription starts; unused reflections do not carry over.
The LIMNS name, logo, design, software and original content belong to LIMNS or its licensors. These Terms give you permission to use the Service personally; they do not transfer ownership of LIMNS intellectual property.
LIMNS uses third-party services, including Apple, Google, an AI provider, hosting services, public museum collections and helpline resources. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
We may change, improve, suspend or discontinue parts of LIMNS. We may also update these Terms, and we will change the date above when we do. If you keep using LIMNS after an update, you accept the updated Terms.
LIMNS is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, error-free or accurate. To the extent permitted by law, LIMNS is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages. Our total liability relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of CAD $50 or the amount you paid for LIMNS during the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights or liabilities that cannot legally be limited.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. LIMNS is operated from Canada. If you use LIMNS from another country, you are responsible for following the laws where you live, and we make no promise that LIMNS is appropriate or available everywhere. Nothing in these Terms removes consumer rights that applicable law gives you where you live.
